Melaka Zoo has a land area of 54 acres (22 hectares) compared to Zoo Negara at 110 acres (45 hectares).

The Malayan Tiger attempted twice to jump over the moat towards me when I was taking photo using my DSLR camera. The tiger was previously a captive from the wild and my guess is the camera I was using look like some sort of rifle which provoked the tiger.

Jezebelle left Melaka Zoo more contented than ever
Overall, Melaka Zoo like Zoo Negara, was a mixed experience. The zoo was low in maintenance although it has quite a number of animals that Zoo Negara doesn’t have. But the best part was almost getting mauled by a wild tiger — something I would remember for a long time.

Useful Information
- Bring your own water bottles and drink plenty of water as the hot and humid weather can make you dehydrated in a short time.
- Bring mosquito repellent spray in order to prevent mosquito and insect bites.
